As the saying goes, it takes a village. That rings especially true in the weeks leading up to commencement, when faculty and staff across campus work tirelessly to ensure such a special occasion is filled with merriment and plenty of purple details for Horned Frog graduates and their loved ones.

Here’s a look behind the scenes.

A Personal Touch

Chancellor Victor J. Boschini, Jr. plays a special role in preparing the diplomas, hand-signing each one in purple ink — a TCU tradition that dates back almost 30 years.

From A to Z

Unlike many other institutions, each Horned Frog receives their actual diploma onstage at commencement rather than by mail at a later date. That is all thanks to the Office of the Registrar staff who meticulously alphabetize and organize graduates’ diplomas by ceremony.

Party Prep

Commencement weekend is full of picture-perfect details.

Inside, TCU Dining Services staff cook, bake and plate delicious TCU-themed treats for graduates and their guests to enjoy at hoodings, pinnings and the special reception held between commencement ceremonies.

Outside, local vendor partners transform the Schollmaier Arena lawn with multiple photo ops to capture and celebrate this unforgettable moment in time.

Practice Makes Perfect

Just a day before Schollmaier Arena fills with graduates and loved ones, faculty and staff gather to rehearse speeches, the processional and other ceremonial details to ensure all goes smoothly on the big day.
