Horned Frogs From Near and Far Reunite for Homecoming

A Winning Weekend

TCU’s Homecoming Weekend on Oct. 21-22, 2022, was one for the record books. Horned Frog alumni returned to campus for numerous events, including the first-ever Schollmaier Live, the football team continued its undefeated season with a win over Kansas State, and students packed the Amon G. Carter Stadium stands to set a new attendance record.

Slam Dunk Start

TCU kicked off basketball season and Homecoming Weekend with the inaugural Schollmaier Live on Friday night. Rapper Ludacris took to the court to perform for a packed Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena after fans cheered on the men’s and women’s teams, who competed in shooting contests and skills challenges.

PURPLE PARTIES

Generations of Horned Frogs gathered on sunny Saturday afternoon for pre-game fun. The annual family-friendly FrogFest and numerous tailgate parties—some of which were sponsored by the Hispanic Alumni Alliance, Black Alumni Alliance, the College of Education and AddRan College of Liberal Arts—offered activities for all ages and, of course, delicious tailgate fare.

Game Time

A crowd of 47,881 fans, including the 6,512 students who set a new attendance record, cheered on the Frogs as they played to victory over the Wildcats. Football wasn’t the only entertainment at the game; the TCU Showgirls and SuperFrogs past and present performed to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller."

AN OUTSTANDING FINISH

While the Horned Frogs clutched a 38-28 win over Kansas State and became 7-0 for the season, another winner was named. Ethan Ridenour, a combined science major and a Chancellor’s Scholar, was honored as this year’s Outstanding Senior, a title awarded by the TCU student body.
