The College Showcase Series Brought Academic Leaders Directly to Honors Students

Learning to Lead On

At the beginning of the semester, the Honors Cabinet, along with John V. Roach Honors College Dean Ron Pitcock, Ph.D., hosted the College Showcase Series featuring Chancellor Victor Boschini, Jr., Ph.D., Provost Teresa Abi-Nader Dahlberg, Ph.D., and the deans from every TCU college.

In addition being part of Honors, Honors students at TCU are also part of the colleges where their areas of study reside. (Fun fact: Honors students come from 98 different majors and minors.)

The showcases gave students the chance to connect with the dean of their area of study, as well as the deans of other colleges. They asked questions about the deans' experiences, gained knowledge about their day-to-day roles and heard their tips for success at TCU. The best advice from the chancellor was simple: “Go to class!”

More Than a Residence Hall

Each of the five showcases brought different academic leadership into the home of the Honors College— Milton Daniel. The Honors residence hall experience allows first-year students to build connections with academic and upperclass student leaders. Events give students access to campus leadership and resources by bringing them directly to the residence hall.

The Honors Cabinet

The Honors Cabinet is a student organization focused on enriching the John V. Roach Honors College experience. Through social and academic oppourtunities beyond the classroom, the Honors Cabinet helps build community. By providing feedback and collaborating with faculty and staff, Milton Daniel Hall and student leaders, the Honors Cabinet works to better the Honors experience for current and future Horned Frogs.
