How Spirit Groups Get Ready to Hype the Horned Frogs

As July melts into August and a new year approaches, spirit groups across campus gear up for a busy fall season. The TCU Marching Band, Showgirls, Cheerleaders, Twirlers and Rangers rehearse for weeks to perfect their routines to cheer on the Horned Frogs in football, basketball, soccer and more sports.

In the university’s 150th year, the spirit groups practice a special halftime performance.

Spirit groups practice individually before braving the 100-degree-plus Texas temps to rehearse together in Amon G. Carter Stadium.

The cheerleaders practice stunts, the Showgirls synchronize dance steps and the Rangers unfurl spirit flags and banners, while the marching band rehearses perfectly choreographed pre-game and halftime shows.
